Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at mysticalwolfdogsoftexas@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If you are prepared for them, yes.

Wolfdogs fit in the "exotic pets" category, which means they require special husbandry and just like any other exotic animal, they become a lifestyle but are still loved and cherished parts of the family. These animals are bred for large breed companionship, and while training them to do tasks is still a possibility, they are not legally allowed to do service work. I breed these animals for 2 reasons, ambassador work for zoo's, schools, and sanctuary representatives, and for private pet ownership.

Absolutely! Wolves and wolfdogs have coats that adjust to their specific climate. In desert and tropical climates their coats stay breathable and in more cold climates, their coats stay thick and full. Overall, they are weatherproof so long as they have adequate access to get out of the elements if they need it.

All states require all canines in private and commercial ownership be rabies vaccinated regardless of presence of wild canine DNA. While the Rabies Vaccines are not FDA approved for wolfdogs, it is still necessary to vaccinate them. If your veterinarian is uncomfortable with this, an exotic veterinarian that is used to seeing these animals would have no issue with it.
